A few weeks after reportedly announcing his split from former management team, Vth Season, the artist has announced the first sponsorship deal to be signed under his own management company, Beam Group.
The multi million Rand collaboration is thought to be the largest ever signed by a South African musician thus far but seeing as no one wants to share the exact figure, we can’t be too sure.
The announcement was made at a luxury press conference held at the Maslow Hotel in Sandton last night.
South Africa’s top media outlets were in attendance alongside actresses, actors, musicians and influencers such as Tshepi Vundla.
“This is a perfect fit as both Cruz vodka and AKA are international, aspirational luxury brands that have foundations in fashion, art and music. We are excited and privileged to have AKA - South Africa’s No. 1 musician and the only South African musician to ever be featured on GQ front cover - as a partner and are looking forward to exciting future collaborations” said Cruz Vodka Africa Managing Director David de Mardt, during last night’s press conference.

Over the next few months, you can expect to see AKA (and Cruz Vodka) on your TV, in print, outdoors on billboards and at all the events the brand will be hosting.
We wonder what this means for the couple’s social lives as his girlfriend is one of the brand ambassadors for a different Vodka brand, Ciroc.
