All The Details About Makhosi Mashelembe’s Baby Showers

Makhosi Mashelembe came to the limelight in 2021 after being introduced to Mzansi on Musa Mseleku’s reality show- Mnakwethu. 

Her husband- Bheki Langa had gone to the show to ask for Musa Mseleku’s help in breaking the news that he was taking a second wife to his Makhosi who was his first wife.

During the episode, Makhosi Mashelembe who was heavily pregnant at the time, revealed that her husband and her sister-wife had been disrespectful to her and had mistreated her.

Shortly after Makhosi Mashelembe’s story of being humiliated by her husband and his new wife went viral, she received support from the public, particularly from the women of the Facebook page called The Ladies House who sympathized with her.

As a way of showing their compassion for Mashelembe Makhosi, the ladies organized two beautiful baby showers for her. The initial plan was to have one big baby shower but the event’s organizers had a little fallout and ended up having two baby showers instead.

The first of Makhosi Mashelembe’s baby showers was held at Richards Bay,  KwaZulu-Natal on 25th September 2021.

Nomfundo Mathonsi was the organizer of the first baby shower, and while the event was successful in all aspects, a little drama ensued after it was reported that around R20,000 donated to Mashelembe had disappeared and fingers were pointed at the organizer.

After plans to hold Makhosi Mashelembe’s second baby shower on 26th September 2021 failed, the event was postponed to 3rd October 2021 and was held at Durban Botanical Gardens.

The provincial baby shower which was organized by Ncumisa Ndelu, was attended by notable guests including reality star Musa Mseleku and one of his wives- Macele Mseleku.

Some of the notable people who sent her gifts include National Legislature Member Fikile Masiko, health MEC Nomagugu Simelane, and eThekwini Municipality Speaker Weziwe Thusi to name a few.

After the second baby shower, Makhosi Mashelembe revealed that she had decided to leave her husband Bheki Langa for good, saying that the events had opened her eyes to see that she could get support from other women and that she didn’t need Langa anymore.

In November 2022, Makhosi Mashelembe gave birth to a healthy baby boy and it appears that she has been raising him alone.

In January 2022, Makhosi exited the Mzansi Magic reality show Mnakwethu: Happily Ever After. Her husband Langa revealed that he and the show’s crew tried to reach out to Makhosi at her home but they were chased away like dogs.
