Fans Want Atandwa Kani To Be The Next Black Panther

They are saying that he looks like Chadwick Boseman

South Africans think they've found someone to inherit Black Panther from Chadwick Boseman and as insensitive as this sounds, they're adamant.

Last night, actor and son to John Kani, Atandwa was trending all over social media as fans were saying that he looks like late actor Chadwick Boseman - should there be a need for a new King T'Chala then it should be him.

This saw Atandwa Kani at the very top of the trending list as fans expressed their for him to be cast as King T'Chala. Picture of Atandwa and Chadwick surfaced all over social media just to highlight how much they look alike.

One tweep posted. 'I honestly think Marvel Studios would do well to consider Atandwa Kani as the next Black Panther. It’s about time an African from Africa played a superhero." However, very few engaged in the #Atandwa4BlackPanther as they thoughts it's still early and insensitive to talk about replacing Chadwick.

As much as this sounds like a great idea for South Africans, it might not work as Atandwa has already starred as King T'Chala's young father in Black Panther.

Veteran rapper Stogie T highlighted this in a tweet. "He already did? Shout out to Atandwa Kani, he was really good as the Previous Black Panther (remember his dad? Also source material already sees Shuri become Black Panther."

Born in 1984, Atandwa Kani is a talented South African actor. Born in Port Elizabeth, Atandwa was introduced to the television industry very early in his life because of his father's work in the entertainment industry.

Kani studied Theatre Arts at the University of Witwatersrand and is currently completing his MFA in Acting at New York University. He made his international, debut in The Tempest, a joint venture between the Baxter Theatre Centre and the Royal Shakespear Theatre. This opened many doors for him.

He made his International television debut in 2009, in the US drama Life Is Wild which is an adaptation of the popular show, Wild at heart.

He hasn't looked back since and has gone on to star in the biographical film, Long Walk to Freedom as a young Nelson Mandela. The cast included Idris Alba, Terry Pheto and Naomie Harries. He also starred in BET's Book of Negroes alongside Cuba Gooding Jr and in the box office hit Black Panther as a young T'Chala.
