Babes Wodumo showed an interest in music and dance from a young age and although his parents never approved of her interests, she continued to pursue her interests and eventually won the support of her family.

She made her debut in the music interest in 2014 when she released her first single titled Desha which was produced by Sir Bubzin.

Babes Wodumo got her breakthrough in 2016 after being signed by West Ink Records and releasing her debut album Gqom Queen. The album was certified platinum (RiSA) and featured the hit track- Wololo which was a massive hit and earned Babes a nomination for Best Breakthrough Artist and Song of the Year at MTV Africa Music Awards.

In July 2020, Babes Wodumo released her second studio album- Idando Kazi under West Ink Records. The album featured Skillz, T.N.S, RockBoy, Cultivated Soulz, Rhythm Soundz, Madanon, Worst Behavior, and Mampintsha. It performed really well and earned her a nomination for Best Gqom Album at the 27th South African Music Awards.

In the nine years that Babes Wodumo has been in the music industry, she has received prestigious nominations and awards, worked with some big names both locally and internationally including American rapper- Kendrick Lamar and Nigeria’s musician- D’banj, and has also made good money from her talents.
