Glitz, glamour and luxury are what you can expect at the first annual Basadi in Music Awards (BIMA) taking place on 15 October 2022 at the Gallagher Convention Centre.

The BIMAs mark the first award celebration exclusively for women in music; this extends beyond singers and songwriters to include journalists, producers, presenters and stylists. Themed “Ball-gowns, Tiaras and Sneakers” for ladies and “Suits and Sneakers” for the gents; fans will not only rub shoulders with their favourite women in music but be treated to breath-taking performances and magnificent stage appearances.
Nominees for the inaugural BIMAs cut across 19 categories and were selected by the public. DBN Gogo, Pabi Cooper and Nomfundo Moh are among those leading this year’s nominees. Not only will the trio be fighting it out for both the Artist and Song of the Year gongs, but DBN Gogo is also up for DJ of the Year while Pabi Cooper earned a nod in the SAMPRA Amapiano Artist of the Year category and Nomfundo Moh is nominated for Kaya959 Afropop Artist of the Year.

Recipients of the prestigious CEO’s Mosadi In Business Achievement Award include founder of Luvdr Beauty Dineo Ranaka; founder of Era, Hair Majesty & CEO at Boulevard Rose by DJ Zinhle; and founder of Flutter by LKG & CEO of OTAREL, Lerato Kganyago.
