The pair remains one of the country’s most talented musical groups, and rumours have been swirling that they have break up.  There have been pleas from their fans for them to release music, and it seems that they are more than ready to deliver.

Despite rumours that they have split up, they assured fans on social media that they will remain together. The pair shared a picture of them in studio together and captioned the post. “Cut the noise — let the music go on,” read the caption.

In another post they shared “Black Motion is dropping soon, let them talk, but the music lives on.”

Prince Kaybee set Twitter ablaze after claiming that the duo was “no more.” This fuelled speculation that it is the end of the era for the duo. “Still in disbelief that Black Motion is no more. The most decorated and astounding duo of our time,” he tweeted.

His tweet left fans with mixed emotions.

In April the duo released a joint statement via Black Spirit shutting down the split rumours.

The official statement released by Black Spirit reads; “This comes after damaging and untrue rumours that emerged on 29 April 2022, that Black Motion has split on social media by an account only known as Musa Khawula. Spirit Motion would like to state in a record that Black Motion members Thabo Mabongwa aka Smol and Bongani Mahosana aka Murdahbongz have not parted ways. Black Motion still exists and has plans for more years to come.”

The statement continued to read and address a few branding changes that the bandmates have taken in their individual capacities as solo brands. “The only change which does not affect the change is that Murdah has rebranded himself from Murdah to Morda. This is because he is preparing to launch his solo career as a DJ but still remains part and parcel of Black Motion.”

Additionally, Smol will also be exploring other business ventures on his own, which will be announced when they are solidified. Later, Murdah rebranded as Morda and launched his solo career.
