Growing Up

Boity was born as Boitumelo Thulo on 28th April 1990 in Potchefstroom in the North West. She attended high school at top girls school, Potchefstroom High School for Girls. She later went on to complete her undergraduate Psychology and Criminology degree at Monash University in Johannesburg..


Boity’s TV Career

The Wimpy Cheesenator commercial was her very first casting. She then landed a number of TV presenting gigs in succession.

In 2011, her television debut was actually a guest appearance on the second season of the e.tv’s hit drama series 4Play: Sex Tips for Girls. She also landed a gig presenting SABC 1’s educational show, The Media Career Guide (MCG), alongside Stevie French. The show gave viewers (and Boity) access to people with careers within the media industry.

In 2012, she co-hosted ‘Zoned’ – an interactive multi-platform user-generated magazine show with Mpumi Mbethe on SABC 1. 

In 2013, she landed her first starring acting role in a show. Boity starred in the Mzansi Magic drama series Rockville as Mpho Bogatsu. 

In 2014 she was one of the celebrity dancers on the 7th season of Strictly Come Dancing on SABC3. She was partnered with Ryan Hammond but they were the second couple voted out of the show. She also surprised fans with her comedic ability when she featured on The Comedy Central Roast of Kenny Kunene. That same year Boity starred with Somizi and Bongani Fassie in the second season of the e.tv reality series, Reality Check, in which the three had to swap their glamorous celebrity lifestyles for some intense labour.

She has had the honour of being among the celebrities who presented awards at the 19th and 20th South African Music Awards (SAMAs). She has also presented awards at the MTV MAMAs, Metro FM Awards and many more.

In 2015, she started hosting the hit music show ‘Club 808‘ - alongside Cyptian Ndlovu, on e.tv. The show has also been hosted by Nonhle Thema and Dineo Ranaka.

In 2016, she was one of the three co-hosts of the MTV video clip show Ridiculousness Africa, with Basketmouth and Thomas Gumede. Later that year she made her debut on the SABC3 soapie High Rollers where she played Charity, a high-class escort.

In 2017 she joined the e.tv soapie Rhythm City in the role radio presenter Luscious Lu.

Boity In Fashion

In 2016, Boity landed a collaboration deal with Sissy Boy Fashion. The Boity x Sissy Boy collection was available in hundreds of stores nationwide. This was after her 2015 collaboration with retail chain store LEGiT.

Boity’s Relationships

Some may argue that Boity’s true claim to fame was her relationship with rapper Cassper Nyovest – one they both still can’t shake today. They started dated before fame. Cassper and Boity first dated while they were in high school then again 3 years later. The couple is infamous for the publicity stunts they pulled but it ended up helping them both build names for themselves.

In 2011, Thulo dated author Khaya Dlanga. Some people didn’t really approve of their relationship since Khaya is 12 years older than her. 

In 2017, althoguh never publicly confirmed, Boity was reportedly dating Anele Papu. Rumors got out that Boity Thulo and her photographer friend Anele Papu started dating after she was dumped by her ex-boyfriend Cassper Nyovest. 

In 2018, she shared with fans via instagram that she’s dating music video director Stanley Obiamalu S.

Boity The Rapper

In 2018, Boity announced that she would be releasing a rap song. Her debut single, “Wuz Dat” featuring Nasty C, went on to win the award for Best Colabo at 2018 South African Hip-Hop Awards.

In 2019, she dropped her follow up single “Ba Kae”.
