On May 25, South Africa and the rest of Africa celebrate the annual celebration of Africa Day, which is the commemoration of the foundation of the Organisation of African Unity(OAU now the AU).

The day celebrates the unity of Africans in the fight against colonialism and apartheid.

Numerous celebrations are being held across Africa and in Mzansi to honour the special day, however, most celebrations will be held online due to the corona virus pandemic.

British star Idris Elba will be hosting the Africa Day Benefit Concert which will see artists such as Nigeria's Tiwa Savage and Yemi Alade, SA's Sho Madjozi and Nasty C, Tanzania's Diamond Platnumz and many more performing.

The virtual concert will take place on today (Africa Day) and will be streamed on YouTube and MTV Base.

Mzansi celebrities have taken to social media to share what the day means to them as they share pictures of themselves dressed in their cultural attires. Most of the pictures are throwbacks but the sentiment is still the same.

TV personality Minnie Dlamini Jones shared that she is proud to be African and hopes that on Africa Day people are reminded that they are stronger together.

Boity also shared a few pictures celebrating the day and in her caption told her fans and followers to always celebrate the privilege of being African
