The sports fraternity has always been male dominated. Including the practitioners who are pulling the strings behind the scenes.
However, one can’t help but notice an inspiring batch of female sports practitioners in South Africa. In a television interview, Lebo Motsoeli once mentioned how female sports presenters still get undermined, even with all the great hosting skills and knowledge of sports.
The likes of Carol Tshabalala and Cynthia Chaka are a few of the ladies in sports that have paved the way for the current generation. They’ve had long and successful careers and have earned their rightful place in the world of sports.
Given the nature of the entertainment industry – where beauty is concerned, some have argued that, good looks have landed these presenters their jobs, the facts behind this perception remain unjustified.
However, only those who are blind would not recognise the sweat and blood that these women have put into their craft. They deserve every inch of success that has come their way as a result.
