The real name of the actress who plays the role of Tshiamo Molefe on Mzansi Magic’s hit
show Gomora is Lerato Mokoka.
Although she plays a teenage high school student on television, in real life, the actress
was born in 1996 and is currently 26 years old.
Lerato Mokoka’s background and education

Lerato Mokoka’s life began in Rustenburg, a town in North West Province. Not much is known about her parents and siblings, if she has any since she has not provided information about them. She however revealed in a past interview that her parents have been very supportive of her acting career.
Lerato completed her matric at Fields College in Rustenburg where she performed well. She
joined the University of Pretoria to study financial accounting. During her second year, she
realized that she wanted to be in the film industry and so after graduating she enrolled for
film studies.
Although she had a dream of studying at the New York Film Academy and her application got
accepted, she couldn’t afford the fees and she ended up studying at the South African School
of Motion Picture Medium and Live Performances (AFDA) where she gained skills in
screenwriting and directing.
She is currently one of the most educated young actors in South Africa proving that young
women can have it all.

Lerato Mokoka launched her acting career in 2020 after landing her role as Tshiamo Molefe on the hit television show- Gomora.
During an interview with Sowetan Live, the talented actress revealed that she saw an open
call for actors for a new television show on social media and decided to apply and although
she didn’t think she wouldn’t get a callback, she gave her best during auditions.
While many actors play several small roles before finally getting their breakout roles,
Lerato Mokoka’s first role as Tshiamo on Gomora has been a big one as the show is
one of the most watched shows in the country. In addition to that, she has been able to work
closely with some of the biggest names in the film industry like Connie
Chiume, Katlego
Danke and Thembi

On Gomora, Tshiamo Molefe is the daughter of Pretty Molefe and Sbonga. She is the youngest in the family and a high school student at the fictional Gomora High School.
She is bubbly and innocent-looking compared to her cousins Buhle
and Mazet
and she tries to reconcile the situation at her home where her father lives with his
mother-in-law.
In one of the most recent episodes of Gomora, Tshiamo gets crowned Miss Gomora much to her
surprise and her parents’ delight.
