Graduation season is upon us and we cannot help but celebrate. However, many people are hindered from getting to walk across that stage due to financial reasons, but it is great to see celebs paying it forward.

DJ Fresh helped out 27-year-old Omphile Mmekwane pay off his R13000 study debt to ensure that he can receive his a BTEC diploma from the Tshwane University of Technology in Soshanguve.

Last month the radio presenter was approached by Omphile on his show the Fresh Morning Show on Metro FM, saying he couldn’t graduate because he had a large amount of student debt that he owed.

His message left the team emotional and DJ Fresh took up the challenge of finding 12 people to make the young mans dream of graduating a reality. Each person donated R1000, paying off Omphile’s outstanding fees.

During an interview with the Daily Sun Team the young man shared how grateful he was to everyone who chipped in and helped him:
“From the bottom of my heart, thank you. I will never forget what Fresh did for me. I’m so grateful.”

It comes to show that not all angels have wings. Here is a list of other celebrities working to see that students are not limited by finances:
