Mzansi woke up to the tragic news of DJ Sumbody's deadly murder. The motive behind the musician's cold-blooded murder remains unclear, but police are still looking for suspects.

The businessman was gunned down while traveling to a gig in his VW Golf in the early hours of Sunday morning, 20 November. The DJ was at the intersection of Woodmead Drive and Woodland Drive.

According to Briefly SA, DJ Sumbody's family conducted a cleansing ritual at the crime scene yesterday. It is normal for the family of someone who died of that nature to perform a ritual to collect his spirit.

In this cultural ritual, the spirit is taken home, where it can rest in peace while providing ancestral protection.

In a video shared by a TikTok user, @angelsebothoma316, members of the family appear to be cleaning the crime scene and performing a ritual in front of police and bystanders.

Speaking to Daily Sun, his aunt Motlalakadi Moshidi, shared how heartbroken they are following the musician's untimely passing.

She said the people who killed him, did this because of jealousy. She further said that DJ Sumbody had a heart of gold and was always available to assist the family.

"The people who did this, did it out of jealousy,"

"He respected the elderly. He was always available to help the family."
