DJ Tira is preaching the gospel of South African music and he's doing it on the biggest platform of all: on Apple Music's Beats 1 Radio.

The Afrotainment boss and Durban-based music maker took some much-needed time off to travel to the Big Apple (no pun intended...) and while there, he took a moment to speak to Beats 1 Radio DJ, Ebro Darden. Dj Tira had one thing on his mind: to promote South African sounds and boost their reputation globally.

Amapiano and gqom are two of our proudest exports at this point in time and the DJ wants as many foreign listeners as possible to hop on to the bandwagon.

The king of the coast was thrilled with himself as he took to Instagram to write:

"I'm in NYC pushing SA sounds from Amapiano to Gqom to House Music. Time is Now South Africa!"

If the caption makes you proud then wait until you see the video! DJ Tira got tongues wagging when he was snapped alongside Ebro Darden who wanted to impress his listeners when he said, "Spit something in Zulu for the people man, please" and DJ Tira obliged, take a listen below:

The interview between the two gentlemen has already gone viral across the country and dozens of fans of wondering if there will a possible cross-continental collaboration between the two mega-stars.

DJ Tira is having the time of his life overseas. The Afrotainment boss has also spent some time with a genuine South African A-lister. He was a guest of honour at Charlize Theron's For Africa dinner:
