The writers of the show have made it obvious from day one that Pretty isn’t really that fond of her sister and we’re reminded of that in almost every episode. We get that she is still bitter that Thati has always been the favourite child and ended up marrying rich and left Alex for Sandton. On the other hand, she stayed behind and remained the black sheep in the family.

Since the death of Mbongeni (Thathi’s husband), she’s has had to make a massive downgrade in her life and Pretty is finding joy in her misery. She constantly rubs salt in her sister’s wounds, reminding her of how she used to live the slay queen life. And now she’s back in their mother’s house in Alex with her two teenage kids.
Fans of the show do acknowledge that Thati hasn’t always been the perfect sister or the most humble soul out there, however, they wish that her sister could have a little bit of compassion for her and help her get back on her feet. But Pretty ain’t got time for that.
At the moment Onthatile is forced to eat humble pie by the residents of Alex. She’s now had to settle for a job at the tavern and everyone is reminding her of how she used to live the high life – her sister included.
