We're totally here for Hakeem Kae-Kazim's new role

If your partner doesn’t know producer and actor, Hakeem Kae-Kazim then they are way too young for you.

According to TVSA, Kae-Kazim has appeared in numerous British, American and South African television shows, including Adventures of Sinbad, Grange Hill, Julius Caesar, Generations, S.O.S, Soul City, Madam and Eve, Mazinyo Dot Q, Justice For All, Fishy Feshuns, The Bill, Love Hurts, and The Canterbury Tales.

He moved to the U.S. a few years ago and has been killing it ever since. His latest role is that of Cecil Colby on the CW’s reboot of the classic American soapie, Dynasty, which we've been watching on Netflix

Kae-Kazim’s role is that of the incarcerated father of the show’s main protagonist, Jeff Colby, played by Sam Adegoke. We were ecstatic to see him on the show in his first scene, assuming that it would be his last but we’re glad to see he’s playing an important fixture on the show.

We also love the fact that Kae-Kazim’s character and his son’s character speak to each other in Yoruba despite his son’s American upbringing - showing the very reality of children with African parents and the daily code-switching we have to implement.

The first season of Dynasty recently wrapped up and we sincerely hope it gets renewed for a second season and we get to see more of him on screen.
