All roads led to the Fill Up Mmabatho Stadium on Saturday, 3 December 2022. Even ahead of the sixth edition of the Cassper Nyovest fronted concert, it was already guaranteed to be a success. This is as the concert was in his hometown and marked the first since the lockdown. Moreover, ahead of the festivities, Nyovest had already confirmed that the golden circle, along with the VIP packages were sold out.

Therefore, it was guaranteed that the concert would have a full crowd. A fact which was reiterated as Nyovest recently shared images of what looked like a filled to capacity stadium. As such, the rapper and businessman has yet another image to add to his collection of capacity crowd Fill Ups.

But the big question now remains as to who had the best performance as it seems that the crowd not only enjoyed Cassper as the headliner. But Makhadzi has also earned credit as the highlight for some during this edition of Fill Up.

It Cassper vs. Makhadzi for best Fill Up performance

Ahead of Fill Up Mmabatho Stadium, Cassper Nyovest had shared the long list of supporting acts which would take the stage. Most of them were Maftown legends like Khuli Chana and Morafe, Mo Molemi and current popular music acts like Kamo Mphela, Kwesta, Musa Keys and Nasty C.

But one support music act that seems to have given Cassper a run for his money is Queen of Limpopo Music, Makhadzi. The Haka Matorokisi hitmaker who has been on a winning streak lately proved just why she is so lauded by music lovers. This is as ahead of her yet another stadium packed performance, she was revealed as the most streamed South African female artist on Spotify.

Ahead of the news of her milestone Spotify Wrapped numbers, Makhadzi was already in a celebratory mode. This is as she was dubbed the Favourite African Star at the recent Nickelodeon Awards. A fact which means that she joins AKA as the two South African musical acts to have won the award.
Given all her recent wins this past week, it should have cme as no surprise that her performance at Fill Up would be one of the biggest highlights. So much so that it seems to have rivalled Cassper’s own headlining performance.

To make the victory even better, it seems that Makhadzi was not alone to enjoy her stellar performance. This is as videos have revealed that backstage, she had the support of her long-term boyfriend and fellow musician, producer-DJ Master KG.

All these wins for Makhadzi are heartwarming considering the humble beginnings and subsequent journey to the type of success she is currently having. From leaving home at the age of 14 years old in pursuit of her dream, to being abused and taken advantage of by those she believed were going to take care of her and her career.

Makhadzi’s meteoric rise to success is a story that is inspirational and deserves a biopic in the future.
