Jessica Nkosi Bio
Acclaimed South African actress Jessica Nkosi didn't choose acting, acting chose her. Prior, she had dreams of being a lawyer, but after failing criminal law in her second year, Jessica decided to drop out altogether; a disappointment that turned out to be a blessing in disguise. It was then that she decided to sign up for drama and ended up graduating from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts in Drama and Performance degree.

Her journey is one of sheer determination and her career continues to show promise even as she continues to inspire many in South Africa. Here’s a look at Jessica Nkosi’s biography.

Jessica Nkosi Age

Jessica Nkosi was born on January 20, 1990, and is currently 31 years old. Jessica grew up in KwaZulu-Natal’s Empangeni community. She was very close to her parents, Jabu Nkosi and Nhlanhlayethu Ntuli. Unfortunately, Jessica’s father died when she was in Grade 11 from Hodgkin’s disease – a rare form of cancer.

Jessica Nkosi Career

Less than a year after her graduation, Jessica landed a role on what would become one of South Africa’s most popular soapies. She made her debut as Qondi Ngubane on Isibaya in 2013.

That’s not all, 2015 saw the actress star in yet another soapie, Ayeye on Mzansi Magic. It was in 2017 that Jessica hosted her very first TV show, BET’s A-list, co-hosting with her fellow Isibaya co-star, Nomzamo Mbatha.

This would not be the last time we would be seeing her on our screens though. Jessica continued to appear in a plethora of shows such as Channel O Music Video Awards, V-entertainment as well as on Our Perfect Wedding as a guest presenter.

In 2020, Jessica featured on yet another South African telenovela, The Queen, where she starred as a villain, Thando Sebata. It was also during this same year that the TV  personality announced that she was leaving Isibaya.

It seems the show has a number of its actors and actresses leaving the show and it leads many to wonder what is really going on. This came after the exit of fellow o-stars, Nomzamo Mbatha and Menzi Ngubane.

This year, Jessica Nkosi was awarded the Outstanding Female Villain award at the Royalty Soapie Awards.

Jessica Nkosi Love Life

Jessia Nkosi has been linked to quite a number of men in the past but her fans have always known Ntokozo “Tk” Dlamini to be Jessica’s soulmate. It was in 2018 that Jessica finally confirmed to the fans on social media that she was indeed in a relationship with Tk Dlamini. Their relationship, which had apparently begun in 2017, was brought to the light during the same time the couple were expecting their first child.

It was in 2019 that Jessica broke the internet when she revealed that she and TK were no longer together following TK’s infidelity. And while TK was quick to put an end to the rumour mill by announcing that they were still together, Jessica had clearly made up her mind where her ex-boyfriend was concerned.
She later took to her social media expressing how hurt and betrayed she felt and her fans echoed her sentiments towards TK’s alleged infidelity. It is not clear whether the two of them are still together at the moment, but what we know for a fact is that the two were set to get married prior to the breakup.

Jessica Nkosi Pregnant

While many continue to question whether or not Jessica and TK are still in a relationship, it goes without saying that the two will continue being part of each other’s lives, especially now that they have a child together. Confirming her pregnancy on the cover of True Love magazine’s July 2018  issue, Jessica was keen on keeping the identity of her baby daddy on the down-low. She, later on, decided to reveal that it was indeed TK Dlamini who was her child’s father as many had suspected.

She hosted two lavish baby showers to celebrate her pregnancy. Jessica's “Twinkle Twinkle Little Jess” themed shower took place in July 2018, where she confirmed she was having a baby girl. Thando Thabethe and Ntando Duma are among the celebrities that graced Jessicca’s baby shower.

Jessica Nkosi gave birth to a baby girl in September 2018 sharing the exciting news on her Instagram. Jessica named her daughter Namisa ‘Nami’ Dlamini.

Jessica Nkosi Instagram

Jessica Nkosi currently has 2.9-million Instagram followers. While she gives her fans a glimpse of her personal life on her page, Jessica is very guarded about what information she shares. She usually posts pictures from her red-carpet appearances and content related to her latest projects. Jessica also gives rare glimpses of her family life, including pictures of her day-to-day life as a mother.

Jessica Nkosi and Mbali Nkosi - Related?

Jessica Nkosi Controversy

TK Dlamini’s cheating drama was not the first time Jessica Nkosi had to deal with an affair scandal. Looks like the actress has also been accused of cheating too. The Sunday Sun claimed that in January 2015, Jessica and fellow actress Nomzamo Mbatha were no longer friends because of a love triangle. The paper claimed that Jessica had an affair with Nomzamo’s fiancé at the time, Khaya Mthethwa.

Nomzmao allegedly found steamy text messages between Khaya and Jessica.

“Nomzamo couldn’t hold herself back anymore. She lost her cool and sent emails to the lovers to tell them their secret was out. On 28 December [2014], Nomzamo told both of them she knew all about their affair. And she added they could carry on – with her blessings,” a source told the publication.

Neither Jessica nor Nomzamo confirmed the reason for their close friendship ending. Nomzamo did, however, hint in a 2016 interview on Expresso that she once had beef with someone in the industry. “It was bad beef. We were friends and we’re not friends anymore. There’s no beef anymore we’re having chicken stirfry,” she joked.
