Actress Jo-Anne Reyneke will help us kick off 2020 with some laughter as she bags a lead role on BET's new comedy series, Black Tax.
Best known for her television soap opera roles on Muvhango and Rhythm City, Jo-Anne says she got to stretch her funny bone with this new role. The actress will play the character of Thuli; a 35-year-old estate agent moving up in life and forced to carry her whole family with her… at her expense, obviously... hence 'Black Tax'. Other cast members include Mandla Jwara, Jason Goliath and Mamodibe Ramodibe.
Sharing the exciting news on Instagram, she said: "Got to stretch my funny bone here!!! ... A new comedy starting in January. Can't Wait. #BlackTaxOnBET"
2019 has been a good year for the SAFTA award-winning actress as she has comfortably joined the BET Africa family. In September she was announced as the host of new reality show "Single Parents Looking For Love" - a 13-episode show which is dedicated to single parents who go through four potential suitors that their child/children get to rate.
A single parent herself, having separated from her actor husband Thami Mngqolo, Jo-Anne said of the show: "I am very excited to be on a platform as prominent as BET Africa for my presenting debut. Particularly because it is a subject close to my heart and I find myself relating a lot with our single parents."
Flourish, mamma!
