Taking to her Instagram to celebrate her baby’s special day, Nhlahla wrote: “Happy 17th heavenly birthday to my beautiful little angel in heaven Zinathi. I love you with my entire soul and I know you know that. Rest peacefully my darling daughter, until we meet again and I can hold you I'm my arms again.”
Activist and author Zoleka Mandela’s daughter Zenani was killed in a drunk and driving accident hours after her 13th birthday during the 2010 World Cup. She would have been 24-years-old this year!
Paying tribute to her beautiful daughter last year on Instagram, Zoleka wrote: “In memory of my daughter, Zenani Mandela, who was killed by a drunk driver, hours after her 13th birthday in 2010. This year, she would have celebrated her 23rd birthday. Today, and every day, I remember. I call for your support, to protect the lives of our innocent children. I urge you to please join me and demand more action from our leaders”.
Actress Mona Monyane lost her daughter Amani in 2017. She passed away just seven days after she was born.
She recently took to her Instagram to remember her. In her lengthy heartfelt tribute, Mona said she longs to hold her baby once again.
“I remember you fondly. I hold onto the moments when you were still safely tucked away within me. I weep for you when the pain enters my bones again. I question and accept many times a day. I hold onto the lessons you taught me. The love you left me with. I miss you daily. Long to hold you once again. I remember you, my sweet. I hold you safely in my heart,” she wrote.
Veteran actress and activist Florence Masebe lost her 18-month-old son in a drowning accident. Speaking about the tragedy, she previously told Drum Magazine that she held her baby for an hour while waiting for the forensic pathology.
"Until that day, when I held my dead son in my arms for an hour while waiting for forensic pathology to come and fetch his body, I had never imagined the pain a mother goes through when she loses the child she birthed," she told the publication.
Amapiano king Kabza De Small whose real name is Kabelo Motha’s baby passed away in December last year. Sharing the sad news on Twitter he tweeted “2020” along with a thumbs down and two broken hearts emojis.
