Kamo Mphela  is a South African dancer turned musician who became an internet sensation after she posted a video of her dancing on her social media account. She is the featured voice and dancer behind the Amapiano hit songs Sukendleleni and Labantwana Ama Uber.

Kamo is riding on her new found fame as the queen of the dancefloor with her sleek moves.

She became popular towards the end of 2019 and since then fans keep raving about her.

Having made a name for herself in the entertainment industry recently, she also scored herself a gig at the recent DStv Mzansi Viewers' Choice Awards (DStvMVCA). Celebs that attended the event, did not come out to play as they came dressed to the T.

The night saw many performances from seasoned artists, however according to viewers who share the same sentiments as the audience members, Makhadzi shut the place down with her hit Matorokisi.

Kamo had a sit down with the ever so popular mac G and she had quite a lot to reveal about herself. Mac G and Kamo actually go way back as Kamo's father used to work at YFm and that how Mac G got to know him. 

Talking about her career, the dancer revealed that she wants to make the most out of her fame because it doesn't last very long. "The fame doesn't last that long so you have to make the most of it while you still have time. That's what people don't understand. It's not a lifetime thing unless you are legendary" She adds.

Detailing her rise to fame, Kamo also told the story of how her biggest song, Jobe came about. "Jr met Jobe and after a video of me promoting the song went viral on Twitter they wanted me on the track. The song was already done and I put my vocals on it." She explains. "I didn't even know that the Jobe song had splits."

Kamo's DSTV MVCA Wardrobe Malfunction


The self-proclaimed Queen of Amapiano, Kamo Mphela's performance at the prestigious DSTV Mzansi Viewer's Choice Awards( DSTV MVCA) 2020, was short-lived following her pants accident.

Her pants ripped off as she was getting ready to give her fans the time of their lives at the prestigious event.

The dancer was only spotted on stage for a few seconds and had to swiftly rush backstage, because an accident had already occurred, which left her fans heavily disappointed because the Amapiano sensation can make party goers party until the sun comes down.

Her exact birth date is not known, but if her posts are anything to go by, her birthday is sometime in November. She is 21 years of age as of 2020. She grew up in Mndeni, Soweto, and her father is in the media business.

Kamo has danced to many South African popular music genres including gqom, kwaito, pantsula and then amapiano. Her dancing career started when she was very young.

She used to follow her father, who then was a staff at YFM, to shows which gave her the opportunity for exposure to a live performance. It was then that her dancing skills were noticed and she's never looked back since.

Recently, Kamo dropped a dance video on social media containing her unique dance steps and let's just say the fans approve.

Kamo has taken her music to another style and she has featured in some piano songs. She has also collaborated with top female artistes like Nadia Nakai and Busiswa.

Kamo Mphela Boyfriend Rumours


Musician, Kamo Mphela, took to social media to share a screenshot of her and Focalistic on a video call with collaborators, Major League DJz, reigniting speculation that they are a couple.

The romantic connection between the two was first alluded to by a mutual friend on social media. The two are yet to confirm or deny the rumours.

The young dancer also added that apart from the quest of making dope Amapiano hits, she would also want to explore fashion designing; owning a clothing line and also a shoe store.
