Songstress Kelly Khumalo has been in the entertainment industry for more than a decade now and she shows no signs of slowing down. The songstress is on a winning streak and she is not entertaining all the controversy surrounding her life.
Kelly is celebrating a huge milestone in her illustrious music career and we love to see it. She has taken to her Instagram account to share that her hit song Ngathwala Ngaye featuring Mondli Ngcobo, has gone platinum.
Ngathwala Ngaye has also amassed 1 million views on YouTube. Fans and fellow ZAlebs congratulated her on reaching this milestone and celebrated with her.
Kelly recently dropped the trailer for Season 3 of her hit Showmax's reality show Life With Kelly Khumalo, and it left tongues wagging online. This season kicks off with #KellyKhumalo trending on Twitter once again, as the release of a true-crime documentary series about the death of Senzo Meyiwa approaches.
The explosive trailer sees Kelly talking about Senzo’s death "They hate the fact that I didn't die that day," Kelly says in the trailer. She also says "Life has its challenges. No one said it was going to be an easy process. You need to remember that the higher you rise, the harder you may fall."
The singer is breathing a huge sigh of relief after it was recently revealed in court that the second docket in the Senzo Meyiwa trial had no merit, so the National Prosecuting Authority dismissed it.
According to the second docket Kelly Khumalo, Zandile Khumalo, Longwe Twala, Gladness Khumalo, Tumelo Madlala, Mthokozisi Thwala and Maggy Phiri were the suspects in the case and they were also accused of defeating the ends of justice.
The trial started on a dramatic note a couple of weeks ago when advocate Malesela Teffo claimed that Kelly allegedly shot Meyiwa by mistake using a revolver that came with Longwe Twala.
“I put it to you that … an eyewitness will testify that Senzo Robert Meyiwa was allegedly shot by Nonhlanhla Kelly Khumalo by mistake as it is alleged” he claimed.
He added "The same eyewitness will further testify that the firearm used to shoot Senzo Robert Meyiwa by Kelly Khumalo came with Longwe Twala, and that firearm was a revolver."
Kelly Khumalo was shocked by the revelation made by Adv Teffo through her legal team. “At first I didn’t want to call her as she was upset. When we spoke her reaction was I am a mother. My child was three months. How dare he,” said her lawyer Magdalene Moonsamy.
“What do they want from me. It started with claims of intimidation. She then said we are going to now break the silence,” she added in her interview with eNCA. “She’s confident. Kelly is a person of high spirits you don’t get to that level without character development and building,” she said.
