South African musician and businesswoman, Kelly Khumalo, took to Instagram on Wednesday, 27 May 2020 to share her joy for the uplifting of the alcohol ban. Sat in her kitchen with a bottle of her new Controversy Gin, Kelly sipped away at her cocktail whilst she spoke in her peculiar Russian accent. The singer explained that she is happy that alcohol will be sold from Monday, 1 June 2020 as the Level 3 phase-in kicks in, although she made it clear that she has not been deprived at all.
Kelly revealed that she has been enjoying her gin throughout the lock-down period, and is happy that others can partake in her joy once the ban is uplifted. She also advised her followers to stop drinking the Pineapple beer concoction as it causes heart burn, and rather opt for her Controversy Gin. She captioned the post with, “Are we going to be consuming together or NKOSAZAN’ is going to stand in the way of our happiness? Just asking for a friend.”
