Although it cannot be confirmed if Kelly Khumalo will be the fourth judge for this year's competition we can't deny that she is well suited and is very much experienced for the job.
Sowetan Live recently reported that Kelly Khumalo has been tipped to be one of the judges for Idols SA this year, after Gareth Cliff resigned in November 2016.
When Kelly Khumalo performed her single, Uthando alongside Idols SA's runner-up Thami, the two received a standing ovation for their hair-raising performance and although nothing has been confirmed about her role as a new judge in the competition here is why we think she deserves the role:
She lives and breathes music
To be part of such a successful singing competition obviously requires one to know something if not everything about the music industry and Kelly sure knows one or two things about being under the musical spotlight.
She's survived bad publicity multiple times
Part of being a successful musician is having your private life viewed under a microscope.
Almost all facets of your life whether good or bad are made public and we all know that Kelly Khumalo has had her fair share of bad publicity which is an experience that is essential to have when you're an Idols judge.
Besides judging and offering sound musical advice to these contestants, Kelly Khumalo can also teach these contestants how to handle bad publicity, how to ensure they hire the best publicists who will ensure that their names isn't dragged through the mud.
Another important aspect about Kelly is that she can advise contestants on how to make money in the entertainment industry in more ways than one.
Kelly is no longer just a singer but also an actor, it was recently announced that she would be returning on Rhythm City plus she also scored herself a role in a local movie, titled Zulu Wedding set to premier this year alongside some international stars.
The singer has also managed to close a number of endorsement deals, after all is said and done money is an essential part of becoming a succesful singer.
Knows how to command the stage
This video says it all, one thing about being an artist is the importance of being able to command the stage even when you're just standing in one position.
Remember that Kelly was also a choir coordinator in Clash of the Choirs to?
We have no doubt that Kelly would do justice to her role as judge for Idols SA should they decide to add a new fourth judge on the panel.
