The news that Ndalo Media is likely to be closing down next year has rocked Mzansi, but that has done nothing to taint the incredible legacy that Khanyi Dhlomo left behind during her reign.

Ndalo Media was home to publications such as Elle, Destiny Magazine and Destiny Man during their 11-year reign, and the impact that Ndalo and Khanyi had on local media is impossible to quantify. Simply put, many of us are in the jobs and spaces in which we play in thanks to Khanyi’s incredible achievements and legacy.

One person who was quick to recognise her impact this week is Lerato Kganyago. As disappointing as it was to hear that the media house would be closing down, LKG took the time to remember that this ending wouldn’t erase the incredible work that Ndalo Media had done and the even more outstanding careers it gave birth to.

Lerato shared an image of herself alongside Khanyi Dhlomo which was captioned:

Lerato is not the only one who has praised Khanyi's tremendous impact on the media and entertainment industry. Some of the biggest names in our industry paid tribute to the incredible mogul.

Whatever the future holds for Khanyi, this incredible chapter of her career will live long in the archives of South African media history. Thank you, Mama.
