There truly is something special about our indigenous languages as South Africans. Therefore, it is always refreshing and inspiring when our celebs express themselves in them.

South African muso, King Monada has inspired many of us in the country when he proudly responded to questions in his mother tongue, Khelobedu. In a recent television interview on South Africa’s leading news channel, eNCA, the Ska Bhora Moreki hitmaker simply blazed when asked questions about his hit song, Malwedhe

This stance serves as an inspiration primarily because English is the dominant language at this station. One simply cannot mention the Khelobedu language without giving a special shout out to fellow musician, Candy Mokoena of Tsa Mandebele fame.

King Monada joins the likes of award-winning musician, Nathi Mankayi, who speaks isXhosa during his interviews. Salute to these gentlemen.

The singer’s Malwedhe has not only blown up in SA, but it has gained popularity across the continent. Is it too early to suggest that Monada has won 2018?
