Kwesta’s DaKAR II album has officially been certified platinum

Hot on the heels of his hot streak at the recent South African Music Awards, Kwesta has an additional two achievments to celebrate.

As of this morning, rapper and song writers Kwesta’s critically acclaimed DaKAR II album has officially been certified platinum while his smash hit Ngud’ featuring Cassper Nyovest has officially been certified quintuple platinum - that's five time platinum if you didn't know.

We reach out to Kwesta for comment and are yet to receive a response but Refiloe Ramogase, GM of Sound African Recordings a division of Sony Music Entertainment Africa, said “we at Sound African Recordings and Sony Music Entertainment Africa are extremely proud of Kwesta and would like to congratulate him on his platinum milestones and recent SAMA23 wins. These accolades are a reflection of his perseverance and a testament to his loyal fan support. We encourage him to enjoy this time and reflect on his significant journey that has led to this point and to continue working hard, if not harder than he has ever done before.”

With this many celebrity fans and even more ordinary fans, Kwesta's success comes as no surprise.

Even if, according to SOME people, awards don't count, at least Kwesta has the numbers to back it up. As fellow rapper AKA once said "the numbers add up, and they don't lie."
