When I first saw the Jet ad this morning, I stopped dead in my tracks because “hey boo!” As a smooth voice caught my ear, I was compelled to take two steps back, stand in front of the TV and stare at the yummy Dr. Fezile Mkhize.
Although the ad is meant to advertise their latest baby merchandise (and give the mommies something to look at as part of a little “mommy moment”), I was more pre-occupied with the man candy than the baby clothes and diapers.
Hailing from Durban, 26-year-old Mkhize, is a doctor-in-training and part time model who won last year’s Hunter’s “Be The China” search, taking over from Thapelo Mokoena.
He has featured in a number of ads for the cider and other brands since then but this new Jet ad is by far our favourite here at ZAlebs.
Mkhize studied medicine at the University of Cape Town and was in the process of completing his final year internship at Johannesburg General Hospital the last time we checked. In a post-win interview for Hunter’s, he told publication, The Media Online, that he plans to specialise in surgery like his brother and is possibly looking at going into neuro or cardiothoracic surgey.
