Another announcement has been made with regards to the progress of Trevor Noah's biography being turned into a film after actress and the film's director Lupita Nyong'o announced that the film will be directed by a South African woman named Liesl Tommy.
As she did with the first announcement, Nyong'o took to Twitter to share the news.
Thrilled to share that @LieslTommy is directing the film adaptation of @TrevorNoah's #BornACrime! She's a powerhouse whom I have known & admired for years & directed my broadway debut, Eclipsed. I can't wait & am proud to have a South African woman at the helm of this story. pic.twitter.com/zKluX1u0nU

Tommy, who has worked on productions such as Eclipsed (a broadway production Nyong'o starred in) as well as the highly popular, Queen Sugar also confirmed the news via her own account.
Mense. Big news for this Cape Town girl. The gifted @Lupita_Nyongo and the great humanist @Trevornoah? How can there be anything but magic? https://t.co/J9XwtcYrSm
