Master KG's song breaks yet another international record

Master KG has dominated the local headlines over the past couple of months, and it has only been for the right reasons. Since the release of his hit single "Jerusalema" the talented DJ has gone from strength to strength to achieve what many Mzansi musicians could only dream of.

His accomplishments have surpassed expectations in South Africa, Africa and abroad, despite musicians around the world being held back by COVID-19, Master KG managed to rise above all of that.
His latest achievement, which he shared on his Twitter account is nothing short of amazing. A song reaching platinum status in Mzansi might not be the easiest thing but when it reaches platinum status in another country, let alone Europe, it is definitely a big deal.

The Tweet, when translated from Italian reads;

"Everyone dances Jerusalema 9 million posts on Instagram 100 million views on YouTube 130 million contents on TikTok are just some of the numbers of the success of the summer hit which today wins the Platinum certification #Fimiaward"

This achievement is yet another addition to the many, that Jerusalema has achieved, this further cements the song into the history books. Here are Master KG & Nomcebo's fans sharing in on the excitement.

As usual South Africans had nothing but love and admiration for the two artists and how proud they are to be fellow citizens. This achievement comes on the back of a collection of other "Jerusalema" milestones, here they are below.

1) Five days ago Jerusalema reaches 100 million views and the whole country can't help but stan, a local record for any artist in such a short space of time.

2) "Jerusalema" Remix feat Nigerian superstar, Burna Boy, reaches Gold status and 150 million streams, within just a month of being released.

3) July 31st, Shazaam confirms that "Jerusalema" is the biggest record in the world, with Master KG being the most-Shazamed in South Africa, Nigeria, France, Italy and Zambia.

4) Minister Nathi Mthethwa, bestows the honour of Ambassadors to the World on Master KG & Nomcebo, for their contribution to Arts & Culture and promoting Mzansi to the world.

5) To top it all off, Master KG deservedly gifted himself with a brand new BMW sportscar, this German machine is well deserved considering that he achieved more than most artists could dream of within such a short space of time and during such difficult circumstances.
