Merging new-age kwaito elements and a distinct amapiano groove, “Amanikiniki” refers to different flavoured crisps, with the hook asking what flavour you prefer – beef or chicken – a metaphor for the choices we make in life.

From Sandton to Soweto, “Amanikiniki” has become a crossover hit that has captured the attention and imagination of a wide audience, reaching over 7.7 million views on Youtube and sparking a nationwide TikTok dance craze in the process, earning them a nomination for TikTok #SongOfTheYear based on the number of local creations in 2020.

From the nominations, TikTok users vote for their favourite song and the song with the most votes will win the title of Song Of The Year.

Amanikiniki features Mzansi's rising star Kamo Mphela who recently trended after this year's #BaseHottestMCs countdown show saw her being called a rapper. The entertainer dabbles in music and dancing, Kamo is a famous amapiaono focalist but not a rapper.

The song also features Major League DJs who recently released their highly anticipated EP titled What's the Levol. The DJs have been entertaining their legion of fans with great music this year. Their hit song Dinaledi featuring Mpho Sebina has been topping the charts.

The artist's collabo with the duo has been nothing short of amazing as fans love their song and Kamo Mphela's dance moves in the music video.

MFR Souls recently released recently bagged the coveted SAMA for the Best Produced Album Of The Year for Scorpion Kings, The album is titled Music Is King and it features the likes of Oskido, Bontle Smith, Tshego, and Kwesta. The duo is always bringing heat during the festive season. Last year they dominated December.

Their track Love You Tonight is a banger that many of us were dancing to during the festive season and when the news about their accident broke, fans were shattered; sending messages and prays of healing for them.

The amapiano duo, along with their manager, were making their way to a New Year's Day event when the crash happened - leaving them seriously injured and their car in a bad state.

Congratulations to the DJs on their nomination.
