Local soulful house band, Mi Casa has reached a milestone by achieving platinum status with their second studio album Su Casa. This breakthrough comes off the back of just one single release – the unsurpassed house anthem Jika
Although the single has been on the circuit for more than 5 months, the strength of the single doesn’t seem to be dying down in anyway. According to MiCaSa’s publicity agency Red flag, “Jika” has been the most played song on radio for 13 weeks and counting. The single has not only topped charts across a lot of local stations but it has taken its catchy tune to international heights and has been sitting comfortably on the charts of UK radio station, BBC Radio 1Xtra.

The dance craze that the single has birthed continues to keep dance floors alight right through this festive season. Mi Casa, in response, has decided to create a national dance competition that will be launched this week across various digital platforms.

Mi Casa has recently completed their African tour that took them to Nigeria, Tanzania, Swaziland, Zimbabwe and Botswana. The platinum selling group are said to be very ecstatic about their success so soon after the release of the album.
It will be very interesting to see if the contestants of the competition are able to top J Something’s moves.
