Whether it has been Demi-Leigh Tebow, who went on to become Miss Universe 2017, or Rolene Strauss who was crowned Miss World 2014, or arguably currently the most iconic Miss Universe of the past decade as she is currently the longest-reigning Miss Universe in the history of the competition Miss South Africa 2019 Zozibini Tunzi

As such, the pageant is a great platform for any aspiring woman to have the exposure and access to achieve their wildest dreams. Therefore, the pageant’s latest announcement is a great opportunity for women in the country.

Miss South Africa 2023 open for entries
Recently taking to social media, Miss SA confirmed that entries for this year’s competition are finally opened. Moreover, this year, the pageant is taking a different direction compared to its previous years. As explained by Miss South Africa’s CEO, Stephanie Weil:

“We at the Miss South Africa organisation have become known around the world as industry disruptors. Why? Because we play on a moving field. We constantly challenge our precepts, we change the rules, we adapt as we adopt new ways of doing things.”

Weil then explains why this year is different from other years of the pageant by explaining:

“We welcome all women who are  ready to step into our leadership platform, and be the next ambassador for South Africa.”

As such, it seems that the pageant has even made the manner in which hopefuls can enter more user-friendly. This is as hopefuls will need to download the app,  fill in the entry form supplied, attach an image, and upload a motivational video about why they deserve this opportunity.

However, it seems that the only problem that some hopefuls might have is related to the tight date between the opening for hopefuls and when the closing date for entries is scheduled. This is as entries close on Friday, 5 May 2023, giving hopefuls over just a week to get ready and supply their entries for this year.

If they win they take the crown from Miss South Africa 2022, Ndavi Nokeri, who has used her win to advance her cause in focusing on fundamental education for children. As such, it was reported that one of aspirations was opening a centre for children with special needs.

As reported

Education is particularly close to Nokeri’s heart so it was with excitement and enthusiasm that she took part in the launch of this important initiative.

The Limpopo-born title holder gave a heartfelt message of support as four education centres in Cape Town came online, able to provide much-needed resources for children in need, thanks to an R1 million donation from GrandWest.

Speaking at one of the centres, Breadline Africa’s Little Angels Educare in Wallacedene, Ndavi said: “It is such an honour to be a part of this, to be here at the start of something that will change lives.”
