Mzansi mourns the untimely passing of another greatest former YoTV presenter and media personality Lumko Johnson. Reportedly after being shortly admitted into hospital, concurrently they have passed away today.

Popularly known for their charismatic, bubbly and fun self from the kiddies show YOTV, Lumko Johnson and their crew made everyone's childhood a little more fun and exciting growing up. They were a bunch of the cool kids that everyone envied through the TV screens.

Now, working behind the scenes in a couple of TV shows, presenting, TV and Radio Super Producer and a proud LGBTQIA+ member. Lumko Johnson lived a happy and fulfilled life right in front of our eyes. His untimely passing has sent the whole of Mzansi into a shock mode as messages of condolences are still pouring in on social media.

"It is with great sadness we share the news of the untimely passing of our beloved Lumko 'Johnson' Leqela. They departed on the 14th of September 2022 following a short hospitalization. Lumko first entered the public realm as a young teenager on the popular SABC 1 YoTV platform. They went on to nurture a career in television broadcast and media at large. In their own words, Lumko was an 'Accomplished TV & Radio Super Producer, Actor, Writer and Big Deal in Most Spaces" reads the statement

Mzansi has been hit with another storm following the passing of Lumko Johnson. Condolences messages are pouring for the family on social media, especially on Twitter. Tweeps have shared in their emotions as they have conveyed their heartfelt messages to the family, close friends and everybody who has an opportunity to experience the greatest of Lumko Johnson.

"YOTV days were awesome, but my highlight was when he played MJ on Mzansi Magic's Inkaba alongside Dr John Kani, Dumisani Mbebe, Nompilo Gwala & Weza Solange. A proud fearless king Rest In Peace Leqela" wrote Bekizitha Zulu

The family has asked for privacy and respect during this trying time. The memorial and funeral details will be communicated in due course.

"Details on the memorial and funeral arrangements will be shared by the family in due course. The family asks that the public and media respect their privacy as they deal with this difficult loss" read the statement
