Legendary singer Lira has suffered a stroke while in Germany. The singer's family confirmed this by releasing a statement, saying she is receiving the best care at home.

Lerato Molapo, also known as Lira, was in Germany for a performance there but had to leave after having her speech impacted. According to the statement her treatment will take some time so she will not be able to perform in the near future.
“To Lira's beloved fans, clients, and associates: As Lira's family, we would like to take this opportunity to share some recent developments regarding Lira's health. Lira recently traveled to Germany for performance but unfortunately suffered a stroke whilst there. As a result, her ability to communicate, in particular, her speech, has been impacted.”
“She is currently undergoing treatment here in South Africa led by the best medical team available. Her medical team has advised that her journey to recovery will require patience and therefore, it is unlikely that she will be able to perform in the short term.”
Lira is said to be in good spirits and is surrounded by her loved ones, “That said, Lira is in good spirits and is surrounded by her loving family and close friends as she journeys towards a full recovery. “
“We thank you all in advance for your prayers, support, kindness, and utmost sensitivity and consideration during this very challenging time in her life. Let there be light!”
According to News24, Lira's friend said that this happened a while ago and did not want to share this until she recovered, "She left Germany and has been recovering well. We did not want to share the information too early, so we can give her time to recover. She is dong well and has cancelled her concerts. We thank God."

“It is with profound regret and sadness that the Kekana family confirm the untimely passing of international fashion designer, son, father and brother Lebogang Quiteria Kekana, 38, after a short battle with cancer. Quiteria sadly passed away on April 17 2022 at his Melville home. Quiteria leaves behind his son, his parents, siblings, family and puppy," the statement reads.
Asking for privacy, the family continued by thanking people for their support, “We ask that you please keep us in your prayers. The Kekana family is deeply thankful for all the countless personal messages of love and support received thus far. The details of his memorial and funeral will be confirmed in due course.”
Speaking of his diagnosis last year, he said "It has been tough, having to think positively, work on my health and being responsible for the lives of those that I work with and their families. We truly pray for better days,” he added.
“Friends have assisted in paying some of my medical bills. I’ve managed to sell some of my belongings to keep the store and studio open until I get better,” he revealed.
