It's been a few years since Nandi Madida was first thrust into the spotlight. The media personality became a household name when she entered several presenter search competitions and although she did not win, her persistence has turned her into one of South Africa's most recognisable stars.

The media personality - who has successfully dabbled in presenting, acting and music - got married to fellow musician, Zakes Bantwini, a couple of years ago and the couple has been expanding their young family.

Shortly after getting married, Nandi gave birth to their first child together, Shaka and a few months ago, she became a mother for the second time when she and her husband welcomed their baby girl and Nandi already has plans for her youngest child.

Taking to Instagram, the former BET presenter took to the platform to share that she wants her daughter to embrace her 'African Aesthetic'.

"I want my daughter to celebrate her African aesthetics💕. There’s Power in loving your skin," she wrote. Take a look at the post below:

Nandi is not the only ZAleb who embraces their African roots. Trevor Stuurman is another star whose African aesthetic has taken him across the world. The influencer and world-renowned photographer has a very unique and distinctively African aesthetic and that has made him one of the leaders of the new school.

Another star who is putting Africanism on the map is Sho Madjozi. The musician, who raps in Tsonga, recently won a BET award and it is inspiring to see our languages take over the world.
