Taking the world by storm, one achievement at a time, Nasty C keeps setting the bar for local rappers and shaking up the hip hop scene. This might have been a slow year for most rappers because of the worldwide pandemic but not for The Zulu Man With Some Power.

The young rapper has just been announced as one of the nominees for BET Africa's Best International Flow at the 15th annual Hip Hop Awards. This category recognises artists from around the world, with nominees from France, South Africa, Kenya, UK, and for the first time ever, a nominee from Brazil. The awards aim to honour the past year in hip-hop music across 17 categories and Nasty C, who was nominated in this category last year, will compete against Kenyan hip hop artist Khaligraph Jones, French rappers Meryl and Kaaris who both originate from France, British rapper Stormzy and the UK’s female MC MS Banks.

Nasty C just recently appeared on Netflix for the second time, this time in his own documentary titled Zulu Man In Japan. The 48-minute visual experience is captured by Chris Nicols while he is living it up carefree and collaborating with some of Japan’s hottest music acts, including JP The Wavey, Ricky and Yoshi. His fascination with the culture, food, public transport and the overall level of normalcy that Japan afforded him comes across incredulously in the film.

“I’ve always had this feeling that I was meant to visit Japan. I could never really explain it. Perhaps it’s because I’m not just a rapper, I’m an artist and I feel like Japan is the hub of art. Shout out to Red Bull for giving me the opportunity to expand my knowledge and creativity as far as art, fashion and music go,”

There is no doubt the young MC is doing extremely well for himself, on the last day of September he confirmed his legendary status while hosting a live performance on Tik Tok, where he performed songs from his latest album, Zulu Man With Some Power, at the request of his loyal fans.

Winning this award will be further proof that he is unstoppable and destined for even greater things in the near future.
