New Show Alert: Mzansi Magic Premieres Short n Sweet

Three little people with big hearts and even bigger dreams – that’s the premise of Short n Sweet, the candid and heart-warming new reality series coming to Mzansi Magic on 7 July 2022.

Set in Nquthu, Port Shepstone and Cape Town – Short n Sweet is the latest in Mzansi Magic’s slate of premium original local content.

 

It follows their lives as they face every day struggles while also breaking stereotypes  about them: It stars social media superstar Vuyokazi ‘Vovo’ Nguqu, whose biggest dream is to become a mother, even if it endangers her own life; aspiring taxi boss Thandazani Khubheka, who wants to start a family with his longtime girlfriend; and family heir Sikhumbuzo ‘Shota’ Mkhize, who wants to bring his fractured polygamous kin back together.

 

“Reality shows are one of the leading genres of television that our viewers enjoy and resonate with, and as a channel we are committed to ensuring we keep our audience pleased, informed and entertained. Like its cast, Short n Sweet seeks to prove that we are all perfect and beautiful in our own unique way. Don’t miss its premiere on Mzansi Magic (DStv Channel 161) on 7 July at 20h00.

Yesterday Mzansi announced that it will premiere The Real Housewives of Cape Town (RHOCT) on 10 July 2022. Director of Local Entertainment Channels at M-Net Shirley Adonisi promised viewers that they will be on the edge of their seasts when the show premieres.

“We look forward to premiering this exciting new addition on Mzansi Magic, which will no doubt keep our audience hooked and will undoubtedly be of the premium quality our viewers have grown accustomed to.”

She continued: “This may be a global franchise, but our spin on it is very much South African. The storylines explored on the show and the cast’s lives are as authentic as they come. As a channel, keeping up with our viewers’ tastes and preferences is important, and this is evidence of that.”
