Njabs Zwane, producer of The Uprising on Gagasi FM, has on Thursday morning voiced her pain regarding the increasing rate at which women are dying at the hands of men in SA.

She started off by reminding the Gagasi FM listeners about the case of Thembisile Yende who was  brutally murdered in her office at the Eskom Pietersboth substation in Springs (about 36km outside Johannesburg).

The radio host then continued to cite mistreatment and harassment in the workplace. She expressed that the conditions women in SA are subjected to are unsafe; before respectfully walking out of the studio during the show. Bright Ntuli, who is the sub-editor, echoed the frustrations of Njabs and many women in SA and also left the studio.
The Gagasi FM twitter account later explained that the ladies were receiving the necessary support: "We acknowledge the walk off by Njabs & Bright from #TheUprising. Both ladies are well and receiving adequate support. We also stand in solidarity with them and the women and children of KZN as they continue to be unjustly harassed and murdered.

This needs to stop! #Sesikhathele"

It was also reported that the entire female staff has boycotted work and joins KZN in mourning; calling for an urgent end to the brutal killing of women and children. Khaya Dladla has also joined them.
