No birthday is complete without the singing of the traditional Happy Birthday. But when it's The Orbit's birthday, its not complete without the Orbit Anniversary Festival.

Not many '4 year olds' can boast about hosting some of the world's best jazz musician's under their roof. But then again, not many 4 year olds are The Orbit Jazz Club. The establishment, which was created in response to the decline of dedicated jazz music clubs in Jozi, is celebrating its 4 year anniversary with its Orbit Anniversary Festival.

The4thMovement 2

The celebration takes place annually and will see the Orbit celebrate its birth with a week of great jazz music coming from SA's own gifted musicians. The festival, aptly titled #The4thMovement, will be celebrating the club's coming full circle from its humble beginnings.

Some of the artists billed to perform on the week starting on the 13th of March until the 18th are: The Blue Notes Tribute Orkestra, Tlale Makhene's Swazi Gold, Steve Dyer's Mantswe a Marabi, Luyanda Madope's Connecting Generation and the great Sibongile Khumalo. But the ultimate highlight of the show will be the reunion of the legendary VOICE  after almost 10 years since they performed together. A newer band Trio Grande - made up of legendary Feya Faku, Paul Hammer and Louis Mhlanga - will also be unveiled during the festival.

With a line up like this it's critical that you don't miss it. Shout outs to The Orbit and Concerts SA for helping keep the arts alive. Book your tickets for the festival NOW by calling  011 339 6645 or send an email detailing which show you'd like to go to to [email protected]
