The early 90's found him selling boerewors sausage rolls outside the Razzmatazz nightclub in Hillbrow, Johannesburg, sneaking his way inside the club to spin the closing sessions and slowing down American house tracks to a tempo that "Africans could dance to".

He teamed up with producers Don Laka and Christos Katsaitis, and together they founded Kalawa Records and released their  self-entitled BOP (Brothers Of Peace) compilation in 1993. The label later turned into Kalawa Jazmee in 1995.

Oskido has since gone on to produce numerous artists such as Bongo Maffin, Boom Shaka and Mafikizolo. He's also worked with DJ Zinhle and Oskido has a very high regards for DJ Zinhle's talent. Recently DJ Zinhle gave DJ Oskido a shout out for being such a good mentor to her.

Between 200 and 2010 he released so many albums that together were turned into a compilation called Church Grooves. In the summer of 2019, he released a new album called Akhiwe which soon became a hit. He collaborated with a number of artists on the album such as Winnie Khumalo, Monique and Tamara Dey.

Fans know that when he goes into studio he will not disappoint.

Oskido does not focus on music only as he's quite the businessman. Earlier in 2019, Mdlongwa shared a snap of his new restaurant, Daruma Japanese Restaurant by Oskido, on social media and that it would be opening soon.

Later, the restuarant was seen up and running as DJ Fresh's wife's birthday was being celebrated there. Among the celebrity guests that were gathered at the table were DJ Fresh, DJ Black Coffee, Julius Malema, DJ Shimza, and Thando Thabete.

In 2019 Oskido declined an international music award. The Kwaito producer declined an award nomination by the Roil Bulawayo Arts Awards (RoilBAA), the organisers confirmed.

Oskido's spokesperson was qouted saying “Please note that Oskido was born in Brits, South Africa, and was raised in Bulawayo therefore he doesn’t qualify for the nomination.”

However, according to Zim YouthVillage, Oskido won in these awards in 2017 for Outstanding Ambassador and Zimtainment shows him as one of the winners.
