Oskido: A living music legend

Oskido, the son of a Zimbabwean politician father and a South African mother came to Johannesburg in his 20s to pursue a career in the music industry.

His career took off after he volunteered to perform at a nightclub where he used to sell sausages after the scheduled DJ didn't show up.

After being introduced to Bruce "Dope" Sebitlo (left on the above picture) together they formed the Brothers of Peace (B.O.P) band. During the B.O.P years, Oskido released eight albums between 1994 and 2004 before partnering with Don Laka and Christos to form Kalawa Records.

The name Kalawa was taken from the first two letters of Don, Christos, and Oskido's surnames, at the time, Oskido used Warona. The popular 90s Kwaito group Boom Shaka were  signed and then later followed by the guy group, Trompies.
