The awards are the biggest night in television so the fashion is top priority. Everyone definitely tried to pull out their best clothes from the back of their wardrobe to really rock the red carpet but nobody werked it like Pearl Modiadie.
As expected from the moment it was announced that she would be co-hosting this year’s SAFTAs alongside Thomas Msengana, Pearl gave us the looks a host of an award show deserves and then some.
Here are our favourite looks from the show:
Pearl walked the Red Capet in this Biji la Maison. She kicked off her big night with this long sleeved embellished nude illusion gown with a feathered hem. It’s a bridal inspired piece she could’ve also worn for her wedding reception one day. Fans jaws dropped from the moment she stepped out the car.
The host had a couple of stellar moments with print. First was this all over traditional inspired print mermaid gown with matching doek. Designed by House of Fabrosanz, the gown is a strategic mix of orange and blue based print patterns. The colours perfectly compliment each other and her skin.
The second was a striking suit. The traditional-inspired print matching 2 piece set’s main design feature is these two gigantic sleeve ruffles that give it a heightened level of drama that an award show host needs.
That’s not the only suit she pulled for the night. The other one was this power suit by Brides Palace. The former Raw Silk contestant designed a black suit with pleated details. Pearl looked powerful and striking in this number, like a CEO of a fortune 500 company (if they were women).
We love how she gave us what we asked for and switched up her hosting wardrobe from just pretty dresses. This next look is another example of her versatility. Pearl also wore this asymmetrical lilac satin jumpsuit with a very exaggerated peplum. She leaned on her Brides Palace again to give her a showstopper moment and they delivered.
