Edwin Sodi is a multi-millionaire businessman from South Africa who has been caught up in dozens of scandals ranging from corruption to alleged relationships with high-profile celebrities.

Sodi is also known for his extravagant and opulent lifestyle that he does not shy from flaunting. The tycoon reportedly lives in a giant mansion that has been rated one of the best celebrity mansions around.

One of Edwin Sodi’s houses is a huge palatial home located in Bryanston. The house reportedly sits on about 4000 sq metres of land.

The architectural design of the house displays some features of the Float House in Tel Aviv, Israel, which was designed by Pitsou Kedem Architects. The was reportedly completed in 2013 before Edwin Sodi bought it the following year for a whopping R40 million and did some costly renovations on it.

Among other features, Edwin Sodi’s house has plenty of rooms including five bedrooms suites and two master guest bedrooms as well as not less than seven bathrooms. Other features include a 12-seater cinema, games room, a huge outdoor swimming pool and several indoor pools.

Edwin Sodi’s house also has a spacious garage with enough room for at least 14 vehicles. Outside the house is a vast beautiful lawn where guests can entertain themselves.

In 2020, Edwin Sodi’s mansion was put up for sale following his involvement in a corruption scandal.

The palatial mansion was listed by Hamiltons Properties at a price of  R85 million or R650 000 per month. It is however unclear if it was eventually sold.

Several sources estimate Edwin Sodi’s net worth to be around $300 million and he is considered one of the richest businessmen in South Africa.

He is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of a company called Blackhead Consulting which provides engineering and project management environment services. The company reportedly made a turnover of R1 billion.

Edwin Sodi got married to Nthateng Lerata in 2012 in a traditional wedding ceremony but their marriage didn’t last long and by 2015 things had turned sour and the two had started having legal battles.

A few months ago, Edwin Sodi was arrested by the police in Sandton after his wife accused him of reportedly physically assaulting her. She also accused him of pointing out a gun at her in the middle of an argument.

In his defense, Edwin Sodi claimed that he had arrived home to find Lerata with another man and had thrown a phone at him but denied having a gun. He was released on R 150,0000 bail.

Over the years, Edwin Sodi has been earned the infamous title of “celebrity blesser” as he has been allegedly linked to several IT girls in the entertainment industry including Mihlali Ndamase, ProVerb’s ex-wife Onalerona Moreo, Minnie Dlamini, Thuli Phongolo and Karen Zulu, just to name a few.
