The Red Bull Music Festival is upon us once again and this one promises to be a scorcher.

This isn't the first time they've done this though. In 2016 for the Red Bull Music Academy Weekender, they took over Jozi hotspots to bring 4 nights of madness which included a performance by kwaito legend Thebe at Great Dane, dancehall vibes courtesy of Admiral and Jahseed at Bassline, a set by Fat Freddy's Drop at 1 Fox and a house throw down at Zone 6 courtesy of Black Coffee.

In 2017 they took it up a notch though with the Red Bull Culture Clash which was basically the amalgamation of 4 major genres on one stage in a fight for the crown. It was an awesome night which saw the coming together of music genres which rarely blended together and of course, this:

In the spirit of bringing South Africa the best music experiences, Red Bull has decided to have their festival for 6 whole days, infiltrating JHB hotspots such as Great Dane, Kitcheners, And Club, Republic of 94, Newtown Music Factory and Zone 6.

Their call card has been 80 artists. Yes, 80 and they've announced just the first few. Names on the line-up include: DJ Okapi, Tlale Makhene and Benjamin Japhta at The Orbit, Admiral and Jahseed at the Newtown Music Factory, DJ Tira, Oskido and Trompies at Republic of 94, DJ Lag, Audioboyz and Angel Ho at Kitcheners,  Moozlie, Rouge and K-$ at Great Dane, Langa Mavuso, Shekhinah and Kid Fonque at Fox Junction AND Sjava, AKADistruction Boyz and Sho Madjozi at Zone 6. Oh, and did we mention SKEPTA!

It's not a joke. Tickets for each day are already available at and you can also get the full line up there. Kusazobamnandi shem. Don't miss this.
