Renate is an actress on demand and it's all thanks to her talent. On Wednesday night, Executive Producer and co-creator of The River - Phatu Makwarela confirmed that Renate Stuurman would begin to appear on the drama series from now on.
Phatu posted a picture of himself and the actress as he expressed his excitement at having her as the newest cast member to join this riveting drama series.
The Director of the show - Zolani Phakade also shared the great news on his Twitter account recently.
We've had the pleasure of watching Renate perform in a number of local TV shows and movies such as 7de Laan, 90 Plein Street, Isidingo, Happiness Is A Four Letter Word and Scandal! to name a few.
Although she has an impressive acting resume' with an acting career that dates back to 1999, in an interview with Tshisa Live, Renate mentioned that although she's been in the industry for a while she doesn't really consider herself a young veteran in the industry but simply enjoys the opportunities that her career has offered her throughout the years.
"I guess that I have been fortunate enough to have been working for a while in the industry. But, also I am not at a stage where I feel like a veteran. So I find myself in a weird 'in-between' area but I like it. It's odd but I know what to do with it. I'll find people that go, you've been here for a while' and people that are like 'where have you been?' but I am happy with where I am."
Congratulations to Renate on her new gig.
