It was not so long ago that Riky Rick parted with his former record label on good terms but it seems as though that as just the start of a magical chapter in the rapper's life as he has seemed to grow from strength to strength ever since the split.
His latest win in a series of triumphs is his GQ Style cover which goes on sale today. In a message posted on his Instagram account the rapper recalls how he and his peers (including the likes of OkMalumKoolkat, Mome Nale and Scoop Makhathini) were ridiculed for their sense of style. But it is among these people that Riky found his tribe and learned to flourish.
On shelves tomorrow, featuring an exclusive with the one and only @rikyrickworld, GQ Style Volume 11 is set to be a game changer. pic.twitter.com/yXZLuEkEmp

"I say that to say this. Any kid out there who thinks they do not have a voice that represents them or feels like society is not ready for the ideas they have, YOU ARE NOT ALONE. There are a million kids just like you out there. Find them, Get together and change the culture for those who will come after you," said the rapper.
Which is pretty much what he and his peers did with their creative collective, Boyz n Buckz. Riky seems to be the most popular in the crew and while his list of achievements (both for himself and the culture) runs deep, one of the most noteworthy has to be his Grazia Man cover.
He has even caught the attention of Gucci, a feature that has seen him travel to Milan and Paris and party it up with the likes of A$ap Rocky.
Riky has believed in himself enough to not only build a brand but to push that brand and put his homies on - and he is finally getting the recognition he deserves for it. It is also interesting to note that although Riky has been named one of SA's best dressed by GQ, he has always been in the top 50 and not in the top 10 - but the cover more than makes up for the snub.
Check out the cover below
P.S.: Riky has a new single (which we're going to call "Buy It Out" for now) and it is so hot. Make sure to hit us up when you hear it and don't forget who told you about it.
The rapper claims he wasn't in a good space to drop any new music and with all the recent drama he faced, we cannot blame him. But we can't wait to hear what he has been working on. We are also keen to see how his promise of putting new talent on the map will pan out.
Thank you so much to all the fans who have patient with me... I wasnt in the right space to drop music but now I think Im ready.
