On Tuesday, The National Film and Television Foundation (NFVF) announced who they've entrusted with hosting this year's 13th annual South African Film and Television Awards.

The SAFTAs are going to Sun City's Superbowl again this weekend, on Saturday the 2nd of March. Viewers can take the opportunity to see their favourite silver screen stars in person by purchasing tickets from Computicket. Otherwise, if Sun City is a bit too far away for you, then you can tune in to SABC 2 from 7pm.

This year's hosts in charge of the ceremony are none other than radio DJ Thomas Msengana and media starlight Pearl Modiadie.

Thomas is best known as the host of Metro FM’s Lunch Time Show. Others may recognize his surname as he is also the ex-husband of singer and Idols SA judge, Unathi. The radio legend is celebrating 22 years in the industry. With such a vast career, he has definitely experienced his fair share of highs and lows in the public eye but his fans have always remained loyal. The powerhouse is expected to bring the same wit and charm we hear over the airwaves to our screens and on stage.

Joining the broadcasting veteran is award-winning television presenter, radio DJ, actress and producer, Pearl Modiadie. It will be a major moment for the star to host the SAFTAs as one of the country's favourite presenters right now. But don't worry, she's no rookie. Pearl has hosted smaller award shows before and audiences love to watch her do her thing. What else does she bring to the table other than a beautiful face and her skill set? Looks! Pearl is always well on her way to becoming a local fashion icon. She rarely gets it wrong in the fashion department and she always pulls out all the stops at MC gigs - so we can't wait to see what she pulls out her bag for the big night.
