If you had no plans to end the summer on a high, you do now. The South African Music Carnival is one of the biggest annual nightlife events in the country and she makes her return this year and promises to be a fun filled night of SA’s greatest music and the best of what Jozi has to offer...and yes this festival is a woman because a man could never finesse like this?!

DJ Mahoota, is one of South Africa's most successful pioneers and is the founder of this extravaganza. Born Zynne Sibika, Mahoota has built an empire of a brand for himself in the urban music industry.

Starting out as a founding member of Trompies, one of South Africa’s original Kwaito groups who have consistently topped the charts over the past fifteen years, Mahoota has had a long, rich and successful career thus far.

Each year the SA Music Carnival proves to get better and better and this year is no exception. With a lineup that boasts over 50 artists and djs from both South Africa and abroad, this is bound to be one of Taboo’s, as well as South Africa’s, biggest events on the 2019 calendar.

Of course, the people of Twitter are hyped, as the lineup of DJs were released just last night and with different lounges securing a different mood each, this carnival is definitely setting the bar all the way up. The carnival is not just for house music lovers but will also include hip hop and kwaito music well represented by a combination of live performances and DJs.

March 15th marks the night of special effects and high def partying. The SA Music Carnival has people like VJ Candee-Leigh and Channel O to back the event and have the people come through-squad deep.

Punted to be the most extraordinary club event, live acts and DJ’s tend to dazzle the crowds on various dancefloors and lounges in an electrifying carnival atmosphere. It is that carnival theme that results in an expanse of wild, expressive outfits, with dancing to match.

The show prides itself on being a promoter of tourism to Gauteng and it is, as every year more and more people from Mzansi come to the Carnival- because who wants FOMO like this? The event partners up with  Channel O, Ciroc, Red Bull and Heineken to name a few.
