KwaMamkhize trended on Twitter the whole night, with many praising it. The show is centered around Durban-based wealthy entrepreneur Shauwn Mkhize's private life and it features her family including fitness bunny Sbahle, and musician Andile Mpisane.
Avid watchers of the show were given a glimpse into their opulent lifestyle, their big mansion which became the talk of the town and all their travel experiences. The show has been breaking the viewership records and in April Shauwn announced that it reached 1.7 million views.
In an Instagram post she wrote "Kwamamkhize has set a new record 1.7 million views we are currently number 1 leading not only on reality shows including the dramas ..... even after the show is no longer playing I don’t know how can I express my gratitude to all of you for the love and the support that you have given me I am speechless from the bottom of my heart I THANK YOU no words can express my appreciation to you all I am humbled."
According to blogger Phil Mphela, the reality show has been nominated at The Hollywood African Prestigious Awards under the Best Reality TV Show category. The awards aim to honor and celebrate the finest in the film and music industry, whose careers have been raising the bar.
Andile Mpisane is also nominated in the Best New Independent African Artists and Best New Male Independent African Music Video categories at the 4th Annual HAPAwards.
KwaMmakhize was a hit from day one on our TV screens and viewers got to see Sbahle Mpisane, recover from her near-fatal car crash in 2018. Sbahle even opened up about what led to her separation with her former bae, Kaizer Chiefs goalie Itumeleng Khune.
Andile Mpisane also captured the hearts of many as he would casually ask for a copious amount of cash from his mom.
The season finale of the show left viewers begging for more and they took to Twitter to demand another season, and it is palpable that Mamkhize had a successful run.
Tha Simelane who also appear on the show recently confirmed that another season is on the cards and we are waiting with bated breath for the show to make its comeback.
