During the press briefing, Shauwn Mkhize announced the news of launching Royal AM Ladies and the thought behind the whole process being the lack of women football in the country as well as the support it gets. "We as Royal Am we sat and we thought we have girls in the family and I am also a girl, unfortunately Andile is the only man in the family, so he is outvoted. He brought in girls, his wife is a woman, i am a woman so, we bought  franchise for the ladies team which will be competing in the women's league. And SAFA has approved it, and we are proud to announce that Royal AM will now have Royal Am ladies" said Shauwn Mkhize
